The first of the month (or right around there) is always accompanied by new jobs numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Particularly in this recession, jobs numbers have been an important indicator of recovery. Check out today’s numbers with the knowledge that these numbers are weighted given other information we have about the economy. They are essentially an average, scaled up, to show a picture for the whole US. How might you go about deciding whether or not the average they reflect is the true average?
