Equation Editor

There have been a few questions about how to type up equations in Word. A colleague shared this today, so I thought I would pass it along. It’s an equation editor embedded in Word 2010. It is LaTeX-style; LaTeX is the program I use to type your exams and answers. I hope it’s helpful.

Conflict Data

I just found a really fun dataset that I wanted to share with you all. It’s a list of civil and inter-state conflicts throughout the world from 1946 to almost present day. It’s collected and provided by the UCDP/PRIO. A new working paper just came out by a Harvard economist, Nathan Nunn and Nancy Qian, a Yale economist, using the data. I think there are lots of cool applications for it.
